Your prayers also join forces with the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before you, cheering you and your husband on.
My friend, your prayers are integral to your husband’s life. You’re their champion—the heroine in their story. Like an uncredited role in a movie, perhaps no one will see your prayer life as the credits roll. But, in the heavenly realm? Oh man, you are known, and your prayers are kept and treasured.
You’re a Fierce Lioness
So, take heart! Come boldly to the throne of Grace.
Full disclosure, prayers for my husband, Larry Dale, are raw and intense. I cry out all the cares of my heart concerning him. All the worries I’m carrying. And the hopes and dreams stuff too. So in your prayers for your husband, I encourage you to cry out anything and everything in your heart. No need to filter. No need to try and find the right words. For you are known and understood by your Abba Father. He gets you and knows precisely what’s on your mind and in your soul.
So, let go and let loose. Shed the weight..the burden you’re carrying. The pent-up angst in your body. The tears, frozen in silence. Let go and let loose.
You have a seat at the table, sister. And there’s nothing more fierce or beautiful than the prayers from a woman’s heart for her man. You are a wonderous lioness in partnership with Jesus, the majestic Lion of Judah. Oh yes, this is who you are. Now, let me hear you roar!
Prayers for My Husband
I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons…” 2 Corinthians 6:18
- Father, cause my husband to know he’s your beloved son.
- Awaken him to your Presence, and may he experience your love for him each and every day.
- Connect him to your unconditional love.
- Cause the relentless compassion of Jesus to invade his soul and free him from self-rejection and harsh self-judgment.
- Jesus, douse the fires of shame in his soul with your love, empathy, and unconditional acceptance.
- Father, hear my prayers for my husband. Please heal all father wounds within him.
- Show him productive and safe ways to express the sorrows and anger stored in his soul.
- Please diagnose the root cause of any unresolved anger.

- Sustain him and secure him from all predators.
- Entrust him with a compelling mission.
- Defeat every temptation for him to live passively.
- Engage him! Cause him to take action. To live on mission, collaborating with you.
- Father, assure him he is not alone. For sure, you are with him.
- Fighting his battles for him…through him.

Prayers for My Husband, Round Two
Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16
- Jesus, cause my husband not to shrink back from conflict. But to move toward understanding and resolution.
- Open his eyes to see humility and dependence upon you as his superhero strength.
- Gift him with a redemptive perspective on life’s challenges.
- Father, what are you trying to teach him? Open his heart and make him willing.
- Where are you at work in his heart? His soul? Birth surrender within him.

- Reveal and release his unique voice of Kingdom influence in our world.
- Take him outdoors and saturate his soul with Beauty.
- Father, satisfy the longing of his heart to experience true intimacy with you.
- May he love me, his bride, and cherish and protect our marriage.
- Jesus, may he champion our children and model a Christ-centric life for them.
- Develop and fine-tune his listening skills.
- Compel him to seek to understand before he corrects. Save him from a critical spirit.
- Kindle a challenge within him to contribute to something beyond himself.
- Gift him with a manly mentor, a kindred heart friend. And draw him to mentor other men.
- Jesus, may he make much of you wherever he goes.
- May the fragrance of his life draw others to you.
